Common Notary Questions:
What documents do I need for notarization?
– Valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, state ID, or military ID)
– The document(s) to be notarized (do NOT sign until in the presence of the notary)
– Any additional signers must also be present with their IDs
How much do notary services cost in Texas?
Texas law sets the maximum notary fee at $6 per signature for acknowledgments and jurats. Mobile notary services include additional travel fees based on distance and time. Remote Online Notarization fees vary by document type. Contact us for detailed pricing.
What is the difference between an acknowledgment and a jurat?
An acknowledgment verifies the signer’s identity and that they signed willingly. A jurat requires the signer to swear or affirm under oath that the document’s contents are true.
Can I get documents notarized same-day?
Yes! We offer same-day appointments for both mobile and remote online notarization services based on availability. For urgent requests, call (210) 816-4038.
Important Texas Notary Information:
• Texas notaries are commissioned by the Texas Secretary of State, not licensed
• Notary commissions in Texas are valid for 4 years
• Texas allows Remote Online Notarization (RON) for electronic documents
• Notaries cannot provide legal advice or notarize documents if they have a beneficial interest
• All notarizations must be recorded in the notary’s official journal
